Cabopino is one of Marbella’s most special areas: small, peaceful, surrounded by nature and with an unmistakable Mediterranean charm. With its intimate marina, idyllic beaches, protected dunes and an established gastronomic scene, it has become an ideal destination both to live in and to visit.

Where is Cabopino?

Cabopino is located in the eastern part of Marbella, between Las Chapas and Calahonda. It is a well-maintained residential area with low-rise developments, Mediterranean pine trees everywhere, and direct access to some of the best beaches on the Costa del Sol.

Its atmosphere is:

  • Family-friendly, relaxed and quiet.
  • Very natural, thanks to the Artola Dunes.
  • With a strong presence of international tourism.
  • Ideal for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Marbella’s city centre.

What to do and see in Cabopino?

Cabopino Beach:

Cabopino Beach is considered one of the best and most complete beaches in Marbella. With its fine golden sand, clean waters and privileged natural surroundings, it is the perfect place to enjoy a day by the sea in a family-friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

One of the great advantages of this beach is its wide natural promenade, which allows you to walk comfortably for several kilometres along the shoreline—whether for exercise, a family stroll, or simply to enjoy the scenery. In addition, it offers a very attractive selection of beach bars and beach clubs where you can eat, have a drink or listen to live music.

Among them, Andy’s Beach stands out as one of the most iconic in the area. It offers sunbeds, cocktails, water activities, a lively atmosphere and, in season, live music, making it a perfect meeting point for those who want to enjoy the sun and sea with a special vibe.

Artola Dunes:

The Artola Dunes are one of Marbella’s greatest natural treasures and a truly unique space on the entire Costa del Sol. Declared a Natural Monument of Andalusia, they represent one of the best-preserved dune systems in the region, offering a spectacular landscape where nature is displayed in its purest form.

This area features a series of wooden walkways that allow visitors to explore the dunes without harming the ecosystem, making it easy to enjoy long walks among pine trees, Mediterranean scrub and golden dunes. It is an ideal spot for gentle hiking, observing local flora and fauna, or taking stunning photographs, especially at sunrise and sunset.

Artola Nudist Beach:

Next to the dune area lies one of the few official nudist beaches in Marbella, featuring crystal-clear waters and a relaxed, respectful atmosphere. It is a natural beach with no buildings around it.

Torre de los Ladrones:

The Torre de los Ladrones is the main historical landmark of Cabopino and one of the most significant remnants of Marbella’s coastal heritage. Built in the 16th century, this imposing watchtower was part of the extensive defensive network along the Andalusian coastline, designed to alert and protect the population from Berber pirate attacks, which were very common at the time.

Listed as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Asset of Cultural Interest), the tower is an exceptional example of coastal military architecture. Its robust, elevated structure provided wide visibility over both the sea and the surrounding land. Thanks to its strategic position, it communicated with other coastal towers through smoke signals during the day and fire signals at night, forming a rapid warning system that extended along the entire Mediterranean coast.

Cabopino Marina:

It is one of the most charming, peaceful and picturesque marinas on the Costa del Sol. Unlike other larger and busier marinas, Cabopino maintains an intimate and welcoming atmosphere that invites visitors to stroll leisurely and enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle at its finest.

The marina is surrounded by restaurants, bars and cafés offering beautiful views of the boats and the sea, creating the perfect setting for either a relaxed lunch or a romantic dinner. Its gastronomic offer includes international, Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, as well as more informal options ideal for a day at the beach.

One of its greatest attractions is the sunset ambiance: the pier turns golden as the boats gently sway, creating one of the most pleasant evening walks in East Marbella. The marina also offers nautical activities such as boat rentals, jet skis, paddle surfing and maritime excursions, adding a dynamic touch to the area.

Thanks to its strategic location next to Cabopino Beach and the Artola Dunes, the marina is also a perfect access point to enjoy both the sea and the protected natural surroundings.
